New group begins on 31st January

But what is it and who is it for?

A small group of people have now agreed to get the ball rolling and begin to form the first therapy/self development group of 2012. Congratulations to them for taking the step of doing something different to help themselves. I very much look forward to working alongside them.

Most people find that one-to-one therapy is a profound, life-enhancing experience. Taking part in a group is the next step towards understanding who you are, how you come across to others and crucially, how and why you fall into unwanted patterns of communication or behaviour.

Unfortunately, many people have a negative reaction to the idea of joining a group...so let me clarify a few things:

What is the image that comes to mind when you hear the words 'therapy or self development group'? Is it of a group of strangers, sitting around in a silent circle, full of emotion and avoiding eye contact?

Reality check: Every group is different depending on the kind of people it is aimed at helping.
  • This one is made up of ordinary people, just like us, who want to spend a little quality time each month exploring what they want from life and how to get it.

  • This group aims to promote feelings of comfort and confidence.

  • Although I can't guarantee there won't be a few awkward silences, I'm certain there will be some good laughs along the way.

  • Usually spread over two x 50 minute halves, the sessions will be divided by a break for tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits.

Now that doesn't sound quite so daunting does it?

See Groups page for details of how to join.
