Here are some frequently asked questions with answers.

What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis + therapy = hypnotherapy.

What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is the state of altered awareness most often likened to deep relaxation.

What is therapy?
Therapy and counselling are both words used to describe the sort of professional guidance which is useful in resolving emotional problems.

What does being hypnotised feel like?
Some people describe it as a daydream or like the feeling of being just about to drop off to sleep.  You will always remain aware of sounds and sensations around you and be able to move around and speak at will.

Will I be put to sleep or lose consciousness?
No.  You will simply feel pleasantly relaxed, that's it. Once you have reached this state you are in a much better position to see things clearly and make personal changes.

How will I feel afterwards?
Probably as though you have just woken up from a refreshing nap - calm and relaxed.

I want to come and see you but I'm not sure about hypnotherapy.
That's fine. Hypnotherapy is just one of many ways of dealing with problems. I am also able to provide counselling/therapy for all or part of each session, depending on how you feel on the day.

How do I know if I need help?
As yourself the following questions...

- Do you believe you could feel happier than you currently do?
- Have you felt happier in the past and want to regain that sense of happiness but don't know how?
- Have you had an experience which just doesn't seem to go away; one which you replay in your head and which is bothering you?
- Do you find yourself dwelling on your problems daily in a way which prevents you from getting on with your life?
- Are you finding that the way you think about yourself or your life makes you feel physically unwell?
- Do you want someone to talk to about the way you feel but don't want to share your problems with friends/family?
If you find yourself answering "yes" to one or more of the above questions, then perhaps I can help...
